Naked Lunch
It was the size of a school bus. Or that's what Polk County, Florida deputies reported as the size of the alligator noshing on the arm of a naked man who'd wandered into the creature's muddy swamp.
Forty-five-year-old Adrian J. Apgar was taken to the hospital in critical condition with leg injuries and his left arm hanging by a tendon after 4 deputies rescued him from the massive jaws of the 12-foot beast.
Why did Apgar end up naked, in the middle of a lake, half-way down an alligator's gullet? I mean, was he smoking crack? Apparently, yes. Yes, he was.

Quote of the Day
As I neared the end of an article in Wired about the "
World's Worst Superhero Names", I saw this curt, descriptive bio of the author. It made me laugh.
"Born helpless, nude and unable to provide for himself, Lore Sjöberg eventually overcame these handicaps to become self-actualized, self-interested and self-cleaning."
Ha!
So, How Did They Know?

You are the Hanged Man
Self-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.
With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of
loss from a situation, rather than gain.
The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.
The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.

An Unlived Life
I started watching a "Without a Trace" marathon after physical therapy this afternoon. I was so moved by a quote the kidnapped character had framed in her home that I felt compelled to google it post haste! It is from a book by Dawna Markova entitled, "
I Will Not Die An Unlived Life."
I will not die an unlived life
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing
a torch, a promise
I choose to risk significance
to live so that which came to me as a seed
goes on to the next as a blossom,
and that which came to me as blossom
goes as fruit.
And who says you can't learn anything from television?
